Consultant or Sr Consultant (OLAP)

Job Title: Consultant or Sr Consultant (OLAP) Location: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, LA, Mpls, NY, SF Job Description: Consultants and Sr Consultants tackle the most demanding assignments, from departmental data mining engagements to enterprise-wide e-business solutions implemented by cross-functional teams. Job Duties (include but not limited to): Provide billable consulting support to achieve account objectives and production success. Services may include: product installation and implementation, enhancement, integration, or audit to meet customer business requirements Perform information systems needs assessment, information gathering and recommend appropriate business systems and IT infrastructure for customers Perform data modeling, application development, technical product assistance and tuning to meet customer performance and functional requirements Specify business systems (inputs, outputs, data, human and automated interfaces) to meet information processing objectives for product software platform Contribute to knowledge capital via project documentation and best practice solutions Mentor other consultants Participate in sales activities, when appropriate Maintain and grow knowledge of BI functionality and technical skills Ability to work under minimal supervision Job Qualifications: High level of technical proficiency in all aspects of OLAP and related technologies Familiarity with various OLAP products, ETL tools, ‘Cubes’, RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and TeraData, web devlp, and C/S platforms Understanding of core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technology: RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and Teradata, Web, Client/ Server, and OLAP Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience (SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++); Web/Internet experience (JAVA, HTML, ASP, XML, XSL, JavaScript) Proven ability to learn about new technologies and apply that knowledge to new challenges Knowledge and understanding of implementation methodology Application knowledge of the following industries: Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Telecommunications, Banking & Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare and ERP 1-3 years prior experience in systems integration consulting or software / hardware vendor services Ability to excel in a team environment Demonstrated creative problem solving ability Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualities: Prior consulting experience in a "Trusted Advisor" role (Those without prior consulting experience will still be considered, but for a slightly lower level) Integrity - demonstrating the highest standards in everything you do Leadership Skills - motivating, influencing, and providing direction to others Team Skills - interacting and cooperating with others to achieve common goals Intellectual Competence - learning and processing new information, analyzing problems and new situations, and exercising sound judgment Flexibility - shifting priorities, adapting to new working situations and hours, and bouncing back from possible setbacks Motivation - setting high performance standards for yourself, and exceeding them Communication Skills - effectively articulating your thoughts and ideas both orally and in writing and proactively listening to others Prioritization Skills - organizing, planning and juggling multiple priorities and assignments to maximize productivity Customer Service Focus - developing, maintaining, and ensuring high quality client or customer relationships Technical Skills - acquiring and using specific knowledge of the technical tools required for the position Mentoring Skills - assist in the mentoring of more junior team members Ability to function independently and interact effectively with operational areas and colleagues Comfortable interacting with C Suite level executives Prior experience performing business development and relationship management functions Good written and verbal communication skills Additional professional certification(s) is highly desirable.
