The objective of this role is to deliver IT value that helps drive business results by understanding both the business of technology and how technology works within the business through:

- IT Strategy & Alignment

Develop business-aligned IT Strategy driven both from a top down analysis starting with an articulated business strategy and a bottom up technology capability assessment.

  • - Enterprise Architecture Deliver both the enterprise architectural blueprinting and governance design capabilities required to effectively define and deliver IT services and capabilities within an organization.
  • - IT Effectiveness Assist clients in “operationalizing” their strategies by formalizing the tools and processes needed to understand how IT resources and programs create and maximize shareholder (business) value.
  • - Technology Innovation Leverage emerging technologies (e.g., wireless, sensors, narrow-casting, video, RFID, smart displays, etc.) to create completely new business models and potentially disruptive strategies for revenue enhancement and cost efficiency



Job Qualifications:

An Enterprise Architect is more than just a single Domain Architect.

An Enterprise Architect must be able to:

  • Manage the process of establishing an enterprise architecture. Establish phased project plans that lead to a completed enterprise architecture. Lead development of architecture Guiding Principles and architecture blueprints, usually through collaborative client workshops. Prepares for and facilitates technology/ architecture brainstorming.
  • Along with industry-focused teammates:
    • Develop a thorough understanding of a client’s desired end state business model including both business strategy and operations
    • Identify core business processes, the entities that interact with those processes, and the interactions between these core business processes.
    • Decompose a business into meaningful units and processes.
    • Facilitate discussions with senior executives to define the business architecture.
  • Identify the logical technology components that support the business architecture.
  • Decompose the core business processes into appropriate technology components and build the system architecture models. Model application architecture, the supporting infrastructure architecture, the application interface/integration model and build subject oriented information models.
  • Explain the linkage from business architecture to supporting system architecture and the role that plays in business/technology alignment.
  • Translate the end state business and technology models into architectural blueprints including recommendation of third party components, definition of required custom components, and determination of the appropriate boundary between architecture components and application layers
  • Develop technology and implementation cost & benefit estimates
  • Analyze existing architecture organization and recommend changes to improve architecture effectiveness. Develop architecture organizational structures appropriate to client's needs.
  • Understand and express architecture roles and skills. Identify gaps in existing client skill base. Develop documentation to include job descriptions for key architectural positions, skill requirements and required certifications for roles/positions, inventory of required competencies by job description/role, and an inventory of required technical skills by job description/role.
  • Understand key architecture governance models, underlying tools, and supporting processes (e.g. architecture approval, architecture change control, architecture's role in project and standards oversight). Understand and apply architecture governance best practices.
  • Establish the specific metrics which communicate the benefits of an architecture program to the business and track to what extent those benefits are being delivered on an ongoing basis. Identify metric stakeholders and owners. Understand methods to capture and collect actual architecture metrics.

  • Prior consulting experience in a "Trusted Advisor" role (Those without prior consulting experience will still be considered, but for a slightly lower level)

  • Prior experience performing business development and relationship management functions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

MUST be willing to travel M-F

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is REQUIRED. Master degree and/or MBA is preferred

Additional professional certification(s) is highly desirable.

MUST be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
